Our Programs

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford’s programs are developed in response to the local needs of children, youth and families in the Greater New Bedford Area. We offer programs in art, technology, athletics, dance, nutrition, games, academics, and more.

Club programs also address the need in our community for providing children and youth with a safe, stimulating place to go – particularly during the vulnerable after school period between 2:30pm – 6:00pm.

Our Music Program

Our music program aims to inspire and nurture the musical talents of youth in the community. Through a variety of engaging activities and lessons, participants have the opportunity to explore different genres, learn to play instruments, and develop their vocal skills. The program not only fosters a love for music but also provides a supportive environment for personal growth and creative expression.

Tech Goes Home

In partnership with the Tech Goes Home program, the Boys and Girls Club are offering free technology classes to members and their parents. Complete the 15 hour course and receive a free Chromebook, a WIFI hotspot, accessories, and relevant tech skills. We cover fundamentals, digital art and music, 3D modeling and printing, artificial intelligence, laser cutting and printing and more. To register, click here.

Art Program

The Art Program is a place for everyone! It’s a place where members come to express themselves through the arts!
The members learn how to create art through problem solving techniques and the creative process that helps to develop life skills. The creative process implores all of the 21st Century Skills when working through the arts. Collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching approaches help members adapt to the ever changing world while making information relevant to their lives! The Art Program not only participates in community-based partnerships but we also participate in both local and National Fine Arts exhibitions yearly.

Boat Building

In collaboration with the Community Boating Center, members will build a 16 foot, sea worthy skiff. Classes begin Monday, Jan 29 and are held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3-4:45PM.  Classes end in April. The boat will be christened and launched in late spring/early summer.
