Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford
A MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ROBERT A. MENDES
Welcome to the website of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford.
As we begin the new year with hope for a brighter future and a renewed commitment to push forward and continue our effort to provide opportunity and services to not only to our youth but our community at large, I would like to reflect on the accomplishments of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford during one of the most challenging times in our organization’s history.
Despite tremendous challenges and our need to adapt to a new norm the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford has once again shown its ability to rise to the challenge and continue to hold true to its mission in serving our youth.
The ability to continue and expand programs in technology, the Arts, academics, healthy lifestyles and now more importantly the social and emotional support our youth so desperately need has been in the forefront of our focus this past year. Through collaborative efforts with partners throughout the community with both public and private entities we have made a tremendous positive impact on the needs of our community’s youth.
However, we won’t stop there, the need for the programs and services provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford are greater now more than ever before. We cannot and will not let our youth down, they are our FUTURE.
We are proud of the accomplishments we have achieved this year, and our staff and Board of Directors know full well that the success would not have been possible without the support of the dedicated donors, foundations and volunteers that make what we do possible. On behalf of the thousands of boys and girls we serve each year I thank you and assure you that we will continue our efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of the youth and communities we serve.
