GYM COORDINATOR POSTION

Full-Time; $38,500 – $42,500 (Yearly)
100% Health Insurance

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates all programs and activities provided in sports & fitness leading to the priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.

 KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, always promoting safety of members and quality of programs. Provide guidance and role modeling to members and staff.
  • Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
  • Plan and implement sports/fitness programs in accordance with organizational goals.
  • Supervise and manage club activity during all BayState Basketball League games and practices; administer sound judgement and critical thinking skills to support league success.
  • Incorporate Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Triple Play program into full year schedule.
  • Promote and market programs to members and the community.
  • Submit program schedules and monthly reports to supervisor and evaluate programs.

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May assist in other program areas at the Club when needed.
  • Will be responsible for managing junior/part-time staff members and provide guidance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive club vans on an as-needs basis.

RELATIONSHIPS:

 Internal: Maintains close contact with assigned staff to assist in matters of programming and operations; interacts regularly with Director of Operations.

 External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools and others.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:  

  • Associates degree and/or working towards bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
