Senator Montigny is a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Tech, Southeastern Massachusetts University. He participated in the Southern Massachusetts University Track Team, a 2x New England Division III Champion, 400 Meter Hurdle, record-holder of UMass Dartmouth 400 Meter Hurdles and 2005 UMass Dartmouth Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1993 he was voted to the Massachusetts State Senate and served as 1993-2003 Chairman of the Massachusetts Senate Ways & Means Committee. He is Former Chairman Senate Committee of Post Audit and Oversight as well as Former Chairman Joint Committee on Healthcare.
