Marques is a former New Bedford High School Basketball player, and a University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth Basketball Hall of Fame recipient. He played for the Cape Verde National Olympic Team Member , Bronze Medal FIBA Africa Champion, Angola Professional Men’s League and 2024 Nominee of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
